Police Department Asks Residents to be Cautious of Phone Scams
December 7th, 2018 @ 3:10pm
The Fisher Police Department has responded to residents who have reported receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to represent the Internal Revenue Service, organizations soliciting donations, and other scams. Fraudulent activity tends to increase during the holiday season, so the Village would like to remind residents to be cautious of anything that seems suspicious. Scams may come through calls from real people, robocalls, text messages, or email. Scammers may attempt to use several methods to try to get you to provide personal or financial information, including threats of legal action. If you receive a suspicious phone call, please do not give out any personal, banking or credit card information to the caller and contact the Fisher Police Department at (217) 897-1184.
